The Emo Night Tour Indianapolis Concert reviews
Sound Check!
I bought tickets to see The Emo Night Tour solely because of my good friend's adoration for her. Anita hadn't performed locally for a few years, making my friend eager to attend. As our concert date neared, my friend's husband bought tickets for a venue closer to their home, leading her to opt out of going with me, resulting in an extra ticket for me. Consequently, I ended up taking my husband. The evening was delightful as we watched Esparanza Spaulding and Ms. Anita Baker perform, both possessing angelic voices. However, Anita's band didn't appear thrilled to be there, with her spending too much time between songs discussing sound checks, her exhaustion, her hair, and her upcoming song choices. This unnecessary chatter significantly shortened her setlist by 5-6 songs. Disappointingly, as the audience was exiting, she hurried back on stage to sing just one verse of Fairytales. Was the show worth it? Considering the traffic, long parking wait, stacked parking, uphill trek to the venue entrance, and extended exit delays, I'd say not really.
